In der Vergangenheit galt es als Nahrungsmittel f\u00fcr Menschen mit geringer Kaufkraft und diente als Proviant in Zeiten der Hungersnot. Es ist sehr reich an Kohlenhydraten und Ballaststoffen und enth\u00e4lt die Vitamine B1, B2, B3 und C, sowie Eisen, Kalzium, Magnesium und Natrium. Au\u00dferdem ist er ein nat\u00fcrliches Produkt, das keine Konservierungs- oder Farbstoffe enth\u00e4lt.
