These days we have received a visit from Carmen Ordiz, from G de Gastronom\u00eda. She has done so as an ambassador for Tasting Spain.<\/p>

This is her own summary of her stay on La Palma:<\/p>

La Palma, despite having been warned by more than one person, has been an island that has surprised and enchanted me in equal parts. Green, steep, colourful and friendly. Very different from other Canarian landscapes.<\/p>

Its people speak proudly of their past and their products, the fruit of the many influences brought by those who left to return richer in culture and soul.<\/p>

\ud83c\udf74Chipi-Chipi Restaurant
A classic of traditional Canarian and Palmera cuisine. A very reasonable average price.<\/p>

\ud83c\udf34Los Tilos
Easy route to do with children and feel like you are in the Jurassic Park itself. The waterfall, the vegetation and the humidity.
It has a restaurant that also serves as a picnic area where you can enjoy a tasting of local products such as cheeses, honey, wine...<\/p>

\ud83c\udf74Gastrobar La Gatera
A very young project led by Mariana Hern\u00e1ndez. Her enthusiasm, know-how and a lot of enthusiasm have led her to open Baifo just a few weeks ago.
Let yourself be guided by the wait staff and you're sure to eat well.<\/p>

\ud83d\udeb6\ud83c\udffd\u200d\u2640\ufe0fUn walk through Santa Cruz
The town of the well-known shoe designer Manolo Bhlanik leaves you speechless as soon as you turn a corner or cross one of its polychromatic squares.<\/p>

The gates, the fountains, the kiosks... it's worth taking a guided tour and getting to know its history.<\/p>

Before setting off to discover the island, a good breakfast, and you can't leave without tasting their guava juice.<\/p>

\ud83c\udf77Bodegas Tenegu\u00eda
One of the cooperatives that make up the oenological map of the island. Diego was in charge of making the visit to the vineyard a wonderful moment. Drinking a wine with a view of the land that produces jewels such as the aromatic malvasia is something you have to do if you set foot on the soil of the island.<\/p>

\ud83c\udf0bCentro Interpretaci\u00f3n Ca\u00f1os de Fuego (Interpretation Centre)
Understanding the origin of the island is easier if you visit this interpretation centre where the history of the volcanoes is explained, from the first one to the one in 2021 which, unfortunately, put this island on the front page of all the international media.<\/p>

\ud83c\udf6aBar Parada
As its name suggests, it used to be a resting place for those who travelled around La Palma. The volcano and the closure of the road mean that only a few locals visit it, but its mantecados are still a reason for pilgrimage for many.<\/p>

\ud83c\udf74Restaurant Las Norias
After the visit to the Salinas a stop at the restaurant Las Norias, opened a few days ago after its closure due to the eruption in September. Canarian cuisine with a twist.<\/p>

\ud83c\udf74The Fire Goblin
Pedro Hern\u00e1ndez has achieved something that few in the world can achieve: to bring peace to his diners with food allergies and intolerances.<\/p>

After travelling, working abroad and returning to La Palma, he has developed a concept with which he aims to continue to make diners enjoy his dishes while avoiding no less than 14 allergens.<\/p>

Gastronomy and conscious nutrition go hand in hand at El Duende Del Fuego.<\/p>

Listening to Fran gives you years of life. His enthusiasm, his knowledge, his way of explaining the whole banana production process is essential to understand one of the main economic engines of the island.<\/p>

\ud83c\udf70Breakfast in Zulay
Their bakery is famous all over the island and they have recently opened a corner in the capital where you can have breakfast with excellent quality bread and a good Palmero coffee.<\/p>

\ud83e\udd57Mercado La Recova
There is no city you visit where a stop at its market is not obligatory. A summary of the reality of a destination can be found in its stalls. In La Recova you will find an X-ray of the island: colour, flavour and variety. It reminded me a lot of Mexican markets.
There you can also drink freshly made natural juices and let yourself be hypnotised by someone who can clean an albacore, the name given in the Canary Islands to the common or Atlantic tuna.<\/p>

\u26ea\ufe0fSantuario Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de Las Nieves<\/p>

A jaw-dropping location welcomes the Virgen de las Nieves. A place where her devotees make their petitions and pray to her.<\/p>

In addition to the many restaurants here you can find different museums, such as the museum of the \"puro palmero\".<\/p>

Excellent Palmeran cuisine, a well-stocked wine cellar, exquisite staff and a carefully selected menu have earned the restaurant a well-deserved Sol Repsol.<\/p>
