This afternoon, Thursday 5th November, at the Benahoarita Archaeological Museum in Los Llanos de Aridane, Saborea La Palma, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura led the 1st Working Forum on Gastronomic Tourism, which was attended by more than thirty entrepreneurs from La Palma, chefs, producers, agri-food industries and entities linked to local gastronomy.<\/p>\n
Raquel D\u00edaz, Councillor for Economic Promotion of the Cabildo de La Palma and head of the Saborea project on the island, gathered the suggestions made by the island's business sector during the meeting and encouraged them to actively participate in the initiative \"because you are, without a doubt, the main protagonists and agents of change on which this project should be based\".<\/p>\n
In addition, he insisted that \"joining forces and working in a transversal and joint way becomes, now more than ever, a necessity of the first order in order not to lose the opportunities that gastronomic tourism offers us when it comes to enhancing the value of our products, our professionals and our destination\".<\/p>\n
From the Cabildo of Lanzarote, the Councillor for Tourism and head of the programme Saborea Lanzarote, \u00c1ngel V\u00e1zquez \u00c1lvarez, stressed that one of the main objectives of this inter-island project is to promote gastronomic tourism as a tool for the sustainable development of the MAC Cooperation Area.<\/p>\n
For his part, the general director of the Fuerteventura Tourist Board, Mois\u00e9s Jorge Naranjo, said \"we are committed to pairing our destinations, exchanging some of the most representative products of our respective primary sectors in order to, with the collaboration of our chefs, offer them as different experiences to residents and visitors, apart from the individual attractions that La Palma, Lanzarote or Fuerteventura itself can offer\".<\/p>\n
