The Chair of Agrotourism and Wine Tourism of the Canary Islands organises the second edition of a multidisciplinary meeting for the development of the sector.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong>The Chair of Agrotourism and Wine Tourism of the Canary Islands of the Canary Islands Institute of Agri-Food Quality and the University of La Laguna is holding the II Forum on Innovation and Sustainability in Wine Tourism, an action prior to the celebration of the VIII Meeting of Agro-Enotourism of the Canary Islands in November. The event will take place on Friday 23 June at the office of the space set up for the \"Revivir El Valle\" project in Los Llanos de Aridane, La Palma.<\/p>\n

At the Forum, professors from different universities and representatives from island and regional entities linked to wine tourism will analyse the future prospects in this field. The Forum will focus on how to innovate in wine tourism, with the sustainability of the activity and its impact on the territory as the cornerstone. Therefore, the conference will be an exchange of knowledge and an exhibition of research projects. In this edition, professors from the University of La Laguna; from RMIT University Vietnam; and from the University of Tr\u00e1s-os-Montes e Alto Douro, in Portugal, will participate.<\/p>\n

The director of the Chair of Agrotourism and Wine Tourism of the Canary Islands, Jos\u00e9 Antonio Gonz\u00e1lez Marrero, will be in charge of welcoming the guests. He will also give way to the sessions given by Abel Duarte Alonso, Senior Lecturer in International Business at the School of Business and Management at RMIT University Vietnam, and Alexandre Sousa Guedes, Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics, Sociology and Administration at the University of Tr\u00e1s-Os-Montes e Alto Douro.<\/p>\n

In them, both professors will present research carried out in different regions of the world that have to do with wine tourism. In particular, they will discuss how the great wine capitals implement innovative and sustainable systems that allow them to position themselves and become benchmark destinations. Afterwards, the speakers will move on to a panel discussion moderated by the Deputy Director of the Chair, Gabriel Santos, and will be made up of Miguel \u00c1ngel Mej\u00edas Vera, contract lecturer, PhD in Regional Geographical Analysis at the University of La Laguna and member of the Chair's Board of Directors; Miren Stillitani Mugica, coordinator of the INTER-Actions Project of the Gran Canaria Wine Route and Hern\u00e1n Tejera Oval, manager of the Cl\u00faster de Enoturismo de Canarias (Canary Islands Wine Tourism Cluster).<\/p>\n

The II Wine Tourism Innovation and Sustainability Forum will have the collaboration of the Cl\u00faster de Enoturismo de Canarias, the Gran Canaria Wine Route, Saborea La Palma and the Denominaci\u00f3n de Origen Protegida de Vinos de La Palma, together with the Volc\u00e1n de Talento programme.
