The initiative, which will take place from 8 to 11 November, has positioned itself as the main meeting point for the primary sector and tourism in the Canary Islands.<\/h4>\n<\/div>\n

La Palma hosts the eighth edition of the Encuentro de AgroEnoturismo de Canarias, an initiative developed by the C\u00e1tedra de Agroturismo y Enoturismo de Canarias of the Instituto Canario de Calidad Agroalimentaria and the University of La Laguna (ULL), with the collaboration of the Cabildo de La Palma, the Fuencaliente Town Council, the public company Sodepal, through the Saborea La Palma programme, and the support of the Plan de Incentivaci\u00f3n de Actividad Investigadora granted by the Regional Ministry of Economy, Knowledge and Tourism of La Palma, the Town Council of Fuencaliente, the public company Sodepal, through the programme Saborea La Palma, and the support of the Plan de Incentivaci\u00f3n de la Actividad Investigadora granted by the Consejer\u00eda de Econom\u00eda, Conocimiento y Empleo del Gobierno de Canarias (Regional Ministry of Economy, Knowledge and Employment of the Government of the Canary Islands).<\/p>\n

The presentation of this new edition, which will be held from 8 to 11 November, was held this Tuesday in the presence of the CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo; the Minister of Education, Pablo D\u00edaz Cobiella; the Mayor of Fuencaliente, Gregorio Alonso, and the Deputy Director of the Chair of Agrotourism and Wine Tourism of the Canary Islands of the Canary Islands Institute of Agri-food Quality and the University of La Laguna, Gabriel Santos.<\/p>\n

The CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, highlighted the importance of this event for the primary and tourism sector in the Canary Islands, which on this occasion is hosted by La Palma, and which allows our island to position itself as a benchmark in these two areas. \"This event is a form of tourism that promotes and values the connection with nature, local culture and regional gastronomy,\" she said.<\/p>\n

The deputy director of the event, Gabriel Santos, explained that this eighth edition, to be held in Fuencaliente, \"a municipality of volcanoes and wine, will be attended by almost 70 experts to discuss, acquire knowledge and share experiences, something that we try to promote from the Chair because in this way we strengthen the sector and the agro-ecotourism activity, not only of La Palma but also of the Archipelago\".<\/p>\n

The mayor of Fuencaliente, Gregorio Alonso, defended the importance of this eighth edition being held in a municipality \"eminently agricultural and which is carrying out several actions related to tourism, as well as being a pioneer in rural tourism in La Palma with the recovery of buildings of traditional architectural interest recovered for tourism\".<\/p>\n

For his part, the Cabildo's Education Councillor, Pablo D\u00edaz Cobiella, emphasised that this event is a new example of the line of work being developed by the Island Corporation to promote the Island's economic engine through the transversality of projects such as this one. \"We are combining agriculture, tourism and culture in a project linked to this chair, which is essential for this progress,\" he said.<\/p>\n

The programme, which will start in Fuencaliente on Wednesday 8 November and will run until Saturday 11 November, will feature more than 30 speakers from various fields who will give presentations and take part in the various round table discussions included in the event.<\/p>\n

Within the framework of this meeting, the University of La Laguna 2023 Enogastrotourism Awards Ceremony will be held.<\/p>\n
