This is one of the most important gastronomic events in the archipelago, which will take place at the Santa Cruz de Tenerife Exhibition Centre from 20 to 22 May.<\/p><p>The CEO of Sodepal, Miriam Perestelo, points out that the aim of attending this event \"is to strengthen the promotion of local agri-food products and to highlight the work of the island's producers\".<\/p><p>Likewise, Perestelo comments that \"during the three days of the fair, the stand will offer tastings, culinary exhibitions and meetings with professionals from the sector, thus consolidating La Palma as a reference point on the regional gastronomic scene\".<\/p><p>For his part, the Councillor for Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Food Sovereignty and Animal Welfare, Alberto Paz, emphasised the Corporation's commitment to promoting local produce, which is a reflection of the commitment of the island's primary sector, which is key to the social and economic development of La Palma.<\/p><p>For this new edition of GastroCanarias, Saborea La Palma has selected five outstanding companies from the island, such as Destiler\u00edas Aldea, with its traditional artisan rums; Vinos Mergus, which is committed to heroic viticulture and wines with identity; VidaViva Ecofood, specialising in high quality sustainable vegetable products; Palmojo, with its traditional mojos made from local recipes and Mi Dulce Pastel, a creative confectionery proposal that combines innovation and tradition.<\/p><p>In addition, the programme of activities includes live showcookings by renowned chefs from the island, who will showcase the versatility and richness of the island's produce.
