Preparations for the 35th edition of Salón Gourmets get underway

Salón Gourmets will take place from 25 to 28 April 2022 at Ifema Madrid. The latest edition of Europe's largest quality food and beverage fair brought together more than 1,500 exhibitors in three pavilions packed with gourmet products.

Traceability, innovation and sustainability in the 45,636 m2 that will occupy this new edition full of novelties, the ideal place not only to keep abreast of trends, but also to create fruitful commercial agreements.
The figures speak for themselves: at the last edition, more than 74,900 visitors attended the Salón Gourmets, generating a turnover of 185 million euros. Proof of this is that 92% of the exhibitors intend to return and 98% of the professionals who attended were satisfied with their visit.Numerous national and international companies have already reserved space in Halls 4, 6 and 8, either privately or under the umbrella of their institutions, international pavilions, Autonomous Communities, Provincial Councils, Town Councils or other Institutional Bodies such as Asturex, Ávila Auténtica, Castilla y León with its quality seal Tierra de Sabor, Castilla-La Mancha, Diputación de Huelva with Que Sea de Huelva, Sabor a Málaga and the Basque Government, Euskadi Basque Country.

Activities

Salón Gourmets cannot be understood without the activities, show cookings, presentations, product presentations and championships that take place over the 4 days of the event. Classics such as the Ham Cutters Competition, now in its 28th edition, or championships that repeat after the success of the first edition, such as the Desafío XChef by Cervezas 1906, organised by Estrella Galicia, the official beer of 35SG. But if there is a novelty, it is the first Spanish Gourmet Pizza Championship, led by Jesús Marquina, the master pizza maker, founder and director of the Spanish Association of Artisan Pizza Makers, who has chosen the Salón Gourmets to organise a championship that will bring together the masters of this Italian dish in four categories: classic pizza, taglio pizza, pizza pala and gluten-free, as well as enjoying an acrobatics competition that is sure to get people talking.The winner of each category will represent Spain at the Campeonato Mondiale della Pizza to be held in Parma, Italy.
